To make grading assignments that use Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets as fast and easy as possible, I've developed add-ons that allow teachers to create a list of requirements for each assignment that both students and the teacher can access using a sidebar. Students complete self evaluations. Teachers can require that students obtain peer evaluations from any classmate, or specific classmates. Finally, teachers use the exact same checklist to evaluate the document themselves and a grade is calculated based upon the point value associated with each requirement. Teacher evaluations can be copied over all peer and self evaluations so that students and peer evaluators know which items need to be revisited. Currently the Document add-on is 100% ready to use, the Slideshow add-on is awaiting approval for widespread use, and the Spreadsheet add-on is still working through the initial approval process.
All information generated by students is saved within the documents they create or peer evaluate as document properties (metadata that can only be accessed programmatically). Only users with edit access to their documents have access to that data. I do not collect any data from students. I only collect data from teachers that is freely and knowingly provided and only for the purpose of making this add-on work. This data is collected when teachers email me their names and the ID of the assignment spreadsheet they've created so that I can add it to the directory. No data is shared with third parties.
